Peter David's Knight Life is a unique and unconventional take on the Arthurian legend, blending elements of fantasy, humor, and social commentary. Originally published in 1998 as a 12-issue miniseries, the series has since been collected into a single volume.

A Modern Twist on a Classic Tale

David's Knight Life is set in a contemporary setting, with King Arthur and his knights existing in a world that is at once familiar and strange. Camelot is now a high-tech city, and the knights of the Round Table are a diverse group of individuals, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses.

The series follows the adventures of Sir Tristan, a young knight who is new to Camelot. Tristan quickly learns that life as a knight is not all that it is cracked up to be. The knights are constantly battling the forces of evil, both within and without Camelot. They must also deal with the political machinations of the court and the prejudices of society.

Through it all, Tristan must learn to find his own path and to become a true knight. He must also learn to accept the fact that there are no easy answers in life, and that sometimes the best thing to do is to do what is right, even if it is not what is popular.

Humor and Heart

One of the things that makes Knight Life so unique is its blend of humor and heart. David is not afraid to poke fun at the Arthurian legend, but he also has a deep affection for the characters and the world that he has created.

The result is a series that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. David's characters are relatable and sympathetic, and their struggles are often our own. Knight Life is a story about the human condition, and about the importance of finding our own way in life.

Social Commentary

In addition to its humor and heart, Knight Life is also a work of social commentary. David uses the Arthurian legend to explore a variety of contemporary issues, such as racism, sexism, and homophobia.

David's characters are often faced with difficult choices, and their decisions have far-reaching consequences. The series shows us that there are no easy answers to the problems of the world, but that we must always strive to do what is right.

A Timeless Tale

Knight Life is a timeless tale that has something to offer readers of all ages. It is a story about the human condition, about the importance of finding our own way in life, and about the power of hope.

If you are looking for a fantasy series that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, then Knight Life is the perfect choice for you.
